Hi David and thank you. It started with the check engine light coming on, staying a day or so and going out for weeks. The light was staying on more than off and i noticed when i was stopped that it started making soundd like it wanted to stall, then the light came on. My mechanic got some codes but wanted to reset the light so that when it came on againg he had a starting point. He says it all ties into that ecm. I did see some on ebay but need to have someone make sure i am looking at the right part.

Hello, new member from New Jersey. Purchased a 2003 and SMT two years ago with 75k. Installed new top, wheels, and tires. For some reason original wheels were pitted even though original owner had it garaged kept. I use only in good weather, have no garage so keep it covered. Big problem now is battery dies completely and now am thinking of an Optima yellow top which possibly can handle the long discharges. Am looking for a new set of headlights, tried to buff out the old ones, but still they don't look really good. My wife keeps pushing me to sell it, but so far am holding out.

Hello everyone, i am a proud but frustrated owner of a yellow 2001 mr2. My wife and i love driving this sporty cat. My frustration comes from a 440 error code. Myblocal mechanic has replaced the gas cap with a genuine toyota cap, the very expensive evac chamber, canister close value, and yet i get this general emmisions contol error. Plus my rear window is starting to separate from the convertible top. So as it goes.. I still love it. I was hoping some fellow members might be able to help with my issue. My local mechanis want to replace catalytic converters. Its my under standing you have 2 pre catalytic converters and the main catalytic converter. I have read that it could be rubber gromments that attach to the gas tank in various places. So if you have a cure please let me know. I love to see my dash without the orange glow of the chk engine light. Thank you much and come ride the blue ridge parkway. Bob

I had an AW11 in the mid-90s, and it remains my favorite car ever. I just picked up another AW11 this summer and couldn't be more pleased. It's a red '86 with 5 speed and ~140,000 miles on the clock. Very similar to my first AW11, actually! I'll be keeping it close to stock, and won't be letting it out of my hands any time soon.

Am looking forward to finding good ideas and conversation here!

Cheers,
Dennis

Hello from Florida!!

I just came across this page when I was surfing the internet. I was actually thinking about getting a new car and getting rid of my 2003 midnight blue MR2 Spyder. The top is starting to leak and I need a new paint job. I have 151k miles and I am the original owner so I have been driving this car for almost 16 years!!! I keep checking to see if Toyota is going to make another MR2. I think I would have had a new car already if that was the case. I just can't part with my MR2!! Reading people's stories about how much they love driving their MR2 has reminded me why I just love this car!! I really can't part with it.

So... any suggestions or horror stories on what not to do with repainting or getting a new top????

Thanks
Shannon

Hello, I have a 91,2.0 naturally aspirated. Other than paint it was going good. What we ran into is when we replaced the timing belt, it continues to run off the pulley. Cannot figure it out. Also looking for a source for transmission synchros. Any help would be appreciated..
