I also own an 86 Red MR2 . Lately my car is leaving a spot beneath it ,I suspect coolant , do you know if I should replace timing belt as well as the water pump? Car has 155000 mi Thanks Charles

Hi Charles, on your model the water pump is not driven by the t-belt but if you do not know when it was done last by all means this will be a good time to do it.

Hi Charles, Yes probably what Tom says . Mine is having A bad oil leak and the labor is gonna cost $900 just to fix . That's crazy I'm not sure where to take it now.

Hi LeAnn, For $900.00 it's alway's wise to get a second opinion I can't say if that's high or low without knowing whats leaking and what the hourly rate at your shop is? as with any mid engine car expect higher repair cost's due to the fact the engine is in a very tight location with lots of extra plumbing.

Finally located leak.Cluch master cylinder and clutch slave.I bought a brake bleeder at Harbor Freight 23 bucks and it worked perfect.
